THAW, Randolph Tucker “Tuck”, 92, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Hazel Thaw; and his first wife, Louise Thaw. Staff Sergeant Randolph T. Thaw was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while serving in the European Theatre during World War II in the United States Army for meritorious service in Belgium, Holland and Germany with the medical department, Company D, 329th Medical Battalion of the 104th Infantry Division. He is survived by his best friend and the love of his life, to whom he was married to for 42 years, Janet Thaw; their four loving daughters, Beverley Hope and her husband, Jim, Sharon Barley, Katrina Huddleston and her husband, Tom, and Lorna Snook; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; his beloved sister, Margaret Sheridan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sheila and Woody Harmon; as well as many other loving family and friends. “Tuck” was a loving, generous and gentle man who was an inspiration to us all. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the Hospice workers from Asera Care. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, Mechanicsville Va., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
