Starting on Wednesday June 9, 2010 from 6:30-7:30pm we will be having prayer meetings in the sanctuary.
When Jesus cleared the temple he made it very clear that His house would be a house of prayer. Paul reminded us in Ephesians 6:18 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” And again in Colossians “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Jesus himself reminded as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
At Providence Presbyterian Church, we have seen God respond in amazing ways to prayer. We’ve prayed for people we know and for strangers we’ve never met, and God has provided direction, comfort, and powerful healing of body and mind.
On Wednesday evenings, the sanctuary at Providence will live out God’s desire to see His house as a house of prayer (Isaiah 56:7). Anybody may come to pray silently or aloud, alone or with others. You are invited to join in prayer or to receive prayer. You are welcomed to pray by yourself in the sanctuary, to sit silently with the prayer group, or to join the prayer group in praying out laud. We will pray as the Holy Spirit leads.
God honors prayer. It’s a mystery, but we’ve seen it work. The King of the universe is calling you to draw close through prayer—why not accept this royal invitation?
